Yoga, Pelvic Floor Awareness & Support for Pregnancy & Beyond
Sunday February 26 @ 330pm

Yoga is a powerful practice that can help relax and centre the mind and body. This workshop will include a prenatal yoga session, showing women how they can utilize specific yoga postures and breathwork during various stages of labour, to help them during the childbirth process. It will also discuss coping strategies and methods to help maintain relaxation, rhythm and ritual, the three essentials for a better birth. The mind-body connection will be addressed in relation to how it can affect the labour process, covering specific techniques to keep the body more relaxed. Pelvic floor training will also be discussed including ways to protect, bring awareness to, and maintain its strength.

The childbirth process can be a transformational experience, one that draws upon the strength of a woman and her support people, however being able to channel one’s energy in the best possible way can greatly benefit from experience and knowledge that can be obtained through trained support. That is why this workshop will also include discussions on birth and postpartum support as well as pelvic floor awareness and how they can greatly help women achieve a more satisfying experience.

Disclaimer: This workshop provides coping strategies and methods to help maintain a sense of calm and relaxation during labour through the use of yoga, awareness of the pelvic floor and other comfort measures. It in no way guarantees a certain birth experience or outcome.
