Yoga is an essential part of my life. Yoga asanas in combination with breathing exercises allow me to really feel what is going on in my body, rather than being habitually lost in the stories of my mind. It allows me to tap into a deeper part of myself, the place of true calm power and intuitive knowing. The place of connection, where the whole life is experienced as an amazing exploration and a rare opportunity to express and share with the rest of the world all that unique beauty that resides within each one of us. I am also a trained holistic bodywork practitioner and I am delighted to offer my bodywork services here at Samatva. Restorative Yoga

Restorative yoga is the yoga of supreme relaxation. To relax is to rest deeply, and taking time to relax and renew is essential to living well. In restorative yoga we rest in each posture for 10-15 minutes, with the body fully supported with the help of props. The gentle, supported postures and comforting props will create a deep sense of relaxation and surrender.

Restorative yoga helps to relieve the effects of stress by allowing the central nervous system to calm while the body is fully supported with the props, stimulating deep relaxation and a sense of complete surrender. All with ease, without any effort – restoring and renewing your mind, body and spirit.

vibrational sound

You can reach silence with the help of sound. Sound is a form of energy; it consists of vibrations that we can feel and hear. Sound is a subtle form of space. What we can hear is a union of sound and space. You can reach silence with the help of sound. Silence is a part of sound.
In this workshop, we will incorporate the vibrational sound of Tibetan singing bowl. With its ability to induce a spontaneous meditative state, the sound of Tibetan singing bowl offers us access to parts of the mind that are usually closed, resulting in a sense of inner stillness, expanded awareness and higher consciousness. Vibrational sound has also a balancing and toning effect on the physical, emotional and spiritual bodies, resulting in improved quality of sleep; decreased depression, stress and anxiety; and increased immunity.

Essential oils

Essential oils can help to release tension and emotions. The aroma of essential oils stimulates the part of the brain that affects emotion. When you breathe in oil molecules, they are received by the brain’s olfactory centre via the nostrils. Essential oils communicate to the limbic system to recall or release stored emotions and memories. When the limbic system, which is responsible for the storage of emotions and memories, is stimulated, sends information to the autonomic nervous system and activates the para-sympathetic nervous system that is responsible for homeostasis in the body, a state of well-being and balance.

guided meditations

Guided meditations as a tool for transformation and healing. Meditation is an incredibly enjoyable, healthy and inspiring way to achieve inner peace, and guided meditations are, quite simply, the easiest way to meditate.
Traditional unguided meditation techniques, while wonderful in their own way, do require some effort on your part. It’s your job to keep your mind focused and as clear as possible. But with guided meditation, you are guided into a state of meditation by spoken word guidance. Your guide will literally walk you through the process step by step.

Guided meditation is not only easy, it is also a very powerful tool for personal development and healing. They help you to achieve a state of deep inner stillness, so that your mind can be cleared of clutter and unwanted thoughts, and then filled with vivid visualization experiences that effect positive personal changes.

In this workshop we will be using well crafted guided meditations to connect with the deeper, more abstract levels of your mind in an effort to encourage profound healing and personal development breakthroughs.

Hands-on energy & massage work

Feel nurtured from your head to your toes. The entire workshop will be accompanied by a hands-on massage and healing energy work from several trained wellness practitioners to help to release the areas of long held tensions in your body and to bring you the deepest levels of relaxation and inner peace. Experience absolute bliss! Following are the modalities incorporated into the workshop:

Reiki (pronounced “ray-kee”) is a therapeutic technique in which healing energy is channelled, or conducted, through a practitioner’s hands into the person receiving the treatment. It is believed that Reiki brings the body into emotional and spiritual balance, supporting the body’s natural ability to heal itself. A state of deep relaxation combined with a general feeling of well-being is the most noticeable and immediate effect of this modality.

Reflexology is a natural healing art, based on the principal that there are reflexes on the head, hands and feet that directly correspond with glands, organs and parts of the body. While you peacefully rest in Restorative Yoga poses, the practitioners will be using their thumbs and fingers to stimulate reflex areas on your feet, hands and head to trigger physiological changes that empower your body to restore to balance.

Thai Yoga Massage looks like a cross between acupressure, yoga, and Zen shiatsu and is inspired by Buddhist teachings. The actual massage consists of a technique that uses slow, rhythmic compression and stretches along the body’s energy lines in order to free tension within the body. Within the frame of this workshop, the practitioners will apply Thai Yoga Massage techniques to loosen the tension around your neck and shoulders area.
