Learn about this unique tradition of yoga that originates from the Bengal Region of north-east India. At its core, Ghosh Yoga is about practicing individual yoga prescriptions; sequences that have been developed for the individual practitioner based on their personal health needs. The medical benefits of the postures are matched to the student and then put together following a template and certain rules of sequencing.

But even when sequences are practiced as a group, there is another aspect of this practice that sets it apart from other styles of yoga. It asks its practitioners for perfect silence and stillness after each posture. This means alternating back and forth between exertion and relaxation; putting your full effort into the asana and then letting your body release and relax completely.

If you’ve ever taken a Hot 26 & 2 class, then you've practiced a sequence in this tradition. But Ghosh Yoga is so much more than 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises. There are over 150 postures and more than 20 different breathing exercises in this tradition. During this Master Class you'll learn the principles of this practice and be taken through a sequence as a group reviewing benefits and contra-indications of each asana as we move through.

ABOUT THIS MASTER CLASS

Don't be intimidated by the word "master", this is a class for all students looking to deepen their understanding about the practice from a specific topic, or point of reference.  There will be room for discussion and interaction if necessary depending on the scheduled style.
