Deepening Your Prenatal Yoga Experience with Core + Floor

A 2-hour interactive workshop exploring and deepening your knowledge of the prenatal body and its relationship to exercise.  The workshop will also include manual cueing for proper core activation and instruction on modified yoga positions for each trimester. 

  • Pelvic girdle and core anatomy
  • Pregnancy-related diastasis recti (abdominal separation)
  • The relationship between the pelvic floor + core muscles
  • Research-based guidelines for safe physical activity for pre-natal women
  • Labour positions + how to release the pelvic floor in preparation for birth

Open to all pregnant women or those hoping to become pregnant.

Mandy received her Yoga certification at Yoga Space Toronto under the guidance of teachers Kathryn Beet, Patricia White and Hali Schwartz. As a graduate of KLC college Mandy also works as physiotherapy assistant. She is passionate about teaching yoga in a safe, mindful, fun and accessible manner that encourages students of all ages and abilities to challenge mind and body, explore breath and challenge themselves with new experiences in a loving way. Mandy currently instructs a weekly prenatal class at Samatva designed for women to enjoy a safe, informative and therapeutic yoga practice during each stage of their prenatal journey.

Abby is a registered physiotherapist specializing in women’s health. She is certified with levels 1-3 in pelvic health education and treats diverse conditions including urinary incontinence, prolapse, diastasis recti and lumbo-pelvic pain for women of all ages, including prenatal and post-natal women. Her clinical practice philosophy involves holistic assessment and treatment of the client, and strongly advocates for therapeutic exercise as medicine.
