I started my journey with essential oils several years ago – I dabbled with lavender, peppermint and tea tree. My use of them had its own ebb and flow. More recently I have been using essential oils daily; loving their natural healing and health capabilities. They have served my family well through births, teething, mood support, upset stomachs, insomnia etc. They continue to support us with all of the colds and flus that get passed around and any other ailments that present themselves in me, my husband or my 3 kids.
It seems that using essential oils has become ‘trendy’ but in all truth, essential oils have been used around the world for thousands of years. Essential oils are naturally occurring and come from cells within plants and are found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers, and other parts of plants.
Essential oils can be used topically (on your skin, dilution recommended), aromatically (smelling from the bottle, in your hands or in a diffuser) or internally (only the highest quality and do your research – in a recipe, in a veggie cap or a cup of tea).
