$5 Kid’s Yoga | ages 4-8

drop-in weekly + $10 parent practice

Kids yoga brings the hatha yoga postures, pranayama, and meditation practices together with kids imagination. In any given kids yoga class we could be pretending to be the plants and animals that live in the jungle, or exploring the ocean blue, making our way through a yoga obstacle course, playing yoga games, colouring a mandala or doing a metta (loving kindness) meditation.

Kids should bring their imaginations, a sense of fun, some comfortable clothes they can play in and a water bottle just in case! Kids yoga is all about having fun!

Frequently Asked Questions

Sorry, no. We thank you for ensuring your child is between the prescribed class length.
Kids yoga is run on a drop-in basis only. This means, all the spaces available will be open on a first come basis.
While we have glass windows on the doors to the studios, we kindly ask that you do not “watch” your child in the studio rooms. We do not permit parents in the room, sorry. Part of this practice is helping to foster independence, trust and confidence. We invite you to read quietly in the lobby or attend the adult class in the next studio at a reduced rate of $10 (this is valid for one adult only – incase you attend with your partner/friend)
Yes it will. We guarantee that all scheduled classes will run regardless of the numbers in attendance. Please be sure to check which studio you are to attend and to observe holidays as we will cancel from time to time. Our online schedule is always up to date and reflective of this changes.
You sure can! We invite one attending adult to enjoy the class in the next room (beginner friendly always!) for a low drop-in rate of only $10. This means you can both enjoy a yoga morning for $15 total!
Class reservations are held for regular members & pass card holders. If you would like to reserve your spot, your rate for attending will be regular studio rates. To ensure drop-in spots, please attend 20-25 minutes early.
The Kid’s Yoga class will be at maximum with 10 kids. Thank you for understanding we cannot allow additional in.
Of course you can. For liability purposes the child must have either the parent or guardian pre-sign the studio waiver in advance. If you would like a copy sent to you, we need 48 hours to do so and you can request it at register@yogasamatva.com or pop into the studio location during our open hours in the evenings & around class times in the day.

I did my 200 hr teacher training with Don & Amba Stapleton, Yoga for Childbirth with Dorothy Guerra, as well as some amazing workshops and courses with Amy Ippoliti, Natasha Rizopoulos, Maria Garre, Seane Corn, Michelle Cormack, Paul Grilley and Michael Stone. I practice to create space both inside of my physical body as well as my mind. I practice to bring more awareness, connection and clarity into every thing that comes to me. I practice because no matter what state I'm in when I arrive on my mat, I always leave feeling so good, so alive.

Yoga is a powerful practice as it has the ability to calm and focus both the mind and body and practicing it makes one feel great. It can also be done by anyone, anywhere. In a class, I like to create a welcoming and non-judgmental space where people can practice. I also like to share the physiological benefits of yoga along with the connection between breath and pose.

A little voice inside my head told me that I just had to try yoga. And once I listened, there was no going back. Yoga has brought a sense of connection and balance to every part of my life: physically, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually. Everything's better with yoga! I teach because it is my way of giving back and sharing what yoga has given to me. My hope is for all people to accept themselves in the packages that they come, to find a deep love and acceptance of who they are, good and bad and to find the strength to heal that which needs to heal. And to be given a forum to spread that message, to be given an opportunity to connect and share loving energy with so many amazing people, what a lucky ducky I am!

A worrier by nature, I have spent much of my life looking for places of calmness. Little did I know that the place I had been searching for was actually inside of me! I found the gift of yoga right here at Samatva. Practicing yoga brings me great joy, peace and calmness.

I am committed to sharing my love for yoga and mindfulness with everyone I meet! Helping others discover their place of inner peace, calmness, and self-acceptance.

My yoga practice began in 2011 and since then has deepened as the years have gone by and by 2014 I was deeply searching for the true source of “Who Am I” and the oneness of who I be.
So my journey began through my spiritual practice, yoga and learning from spiritual teachers.
My yoga practice changed completely and I started practicing from my heart and not my head.

Yoga healed me mentally, emotionally and spiritually. In present moment, 2017 I am honored to say that I just got my 200 hour certification in Yoga Mindful Teacher Training and with this training I am truly blessed to be led on the path of Mindfulness through my incredible amazing teachers.

This has now led me to full breath awareness which keeps me in the present moment. I want to bring this JOY PEACE AND HAPPINESS to everyone on and off the mat with one breath and one smile at a time.

Practicing yoga helps me to maintain a much-needed sense of balance between myself, my interests, my being in the world, and my interactions with others. Life is yoga. I’m grateful that my study and practice of yoga has taken me to such wide ranging locations as Hollyhock - Canada's Lifelong Learning Centre on Cortes Island, British Columbia and Kripalu Centre for Yoga and Health in Stockbridge, Massachusets. I have studied with such renowned instructors as Seane Corn, Bo Forbes, Michael Stone (Centre of Gravity), Sadie Nardini, Jovina Chan (Kripalu) and Burt Peters.I’ve also had the pleasure of teaching classes in various locations in Ontario, Victoria, Cortes Island - British Columbia, and Kingston & Wolfe Island.
