Hot 26 + 2
Often referred to as Original Hot Yoga, this class, developed in the Ghosh lineage in Kolkata (Calcutta) where the climate is naturally very warm, is a 90 minute – set sequence of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises. All postures are done twice. It is characterized by a fluctuation between exertion and relaxation where after each posture there is deep relaxation to integrate the benefits of the pose. Emphasis is placed on proper alignment + not on the depth of each posture making this set challenging yet accessible for all levels of experience. This practice is therapeutic in focus, emphasized by stillness in body and mind. There is no music, just the sounds of silence and your own sweat gently dripping, purifying and detoxing your body.
